Our mission is to honor excellence in the art and science of connecting audiences with entertainment, unite a diverse global community where creativity and strategy thrive, and support opportunity and growth for all who spark fandom and shape culture.
Our Story
Founded in 1956, GEMA (formerly PromaxBPME), a nonprofit 501(c)(6), has evolved alongside the entertainment industry for nearly seven decades. From our earliest days in television promotion to today’s global, cross-platform ecosystem, we have served as the trusted home for the creative and strategic minds who connect audiences with stories.
In 2023, we became the Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts & Sciences (GEMA) — a bold reimagining that reflects our commitment to the full spectrum of entertainment. Today, the Academy honors creative excellence, powers mentorship and professional development, and fosters connection across the industry.
Our Community
We are a global network of the people who drive entertainment forward — from creative and strategic marketers, publicists, and brand partnership leaders to studios, streamers, game publishers, sports leagues, agencies, entrepreneurs, innovators, and content creators. Across music, film, television, gaming, and beyond, we unite those who spark fandom, build engagement, and connect audiences with the stories that shape culture.
